Sam Newberger
CEO

Sam Newberger is a former Marine Corps Officer with over 12 years of Special Operations and Intelligence Community experience. During this time, he served as a Technical Operations specialist where he learned how to create custom technologies for unique military applications. After leaving the government sector, Sam gained corporate experience as a Program Manager for BAE Systems and served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for a small technology company until its sale in 2016.

Ryan Fleming
Co-founder

Ryan Fleming served over a decade in the US Army as a Special Forces Communications Sergeant (Green Beret).  His military specialties included RF Communications and Technical Surveillance.  After leaving full time employment with the military, Ryan worked at Cisco Systems as a network engineer and team lead in support of a Fortune 25 client.  Post Cisco, he worked at a small government contracting firm managing the company’s fabrication and prototyping shop.  When Ryan is not fabricating unique custom solutions for customers, he can be found hiking when it’s warm, snowboarding when it’s cold or otherwise in his kitchen where he gets serious with his eats (www.seriouseats.com).

Brad Hess
Co-founder

Brad Hess is an experienced Information Technology professional with over 18 years of development experience in both tech start-ups and large corporations. His knowledge with software development, database development, networking, hardware engineering, 3d printing, fabrication and embedded technologies bring a unique capability to the Arc34 team. Brad has been actively involved in the open source hardware and software development, and is both a founding member and board member of a Makerspace in Leesburg, VA.
